Cool Mint

I am loving the mint color trend right now.  Mint is one of those trends that I'm not sure if I will like in a year or so.  With that being said, I am very cheap when it comes to spending money on trends.  I like all trendy items to be $50 & below.  Both items skirt ($53) & Clutch ($7) were right in my price range for the trend.

Some of you may notice I wear a lot of Michael Kors belts.  I get questions on plus size belt finding all the time, so I decided to clarify the sizing.  I buy an XL in his belts.  My waist is 39 inches, but his belts  should accommodate up to a 45 inch waist.  You don't necessarily have to buy a "plus size" belt.  Try the XL & XXL (when you can find them) - you will be surprised.  Also, the addition of a good quality belt can turn up the "luxe" knob on your entire outfit just by adding this little bit of structure.  To get the best deal on these kind of belts I shop at Off Fifth, Nordstrom Rack, and TJMaxx.

  9. cool and I love the tip on spending a limited amount of money on trends...I tend to buy basic, classic structures myself and I talk myself out of buying trending things because of cost :)

    1. Yea fashion can be very uncomfortable. I usually only wear two when I wearing something very form fitting like in the red dress posts.

  19. would you mind showing the back of your outfits, especially when you wear belts? i have a few belts but not really liking the way that they look. i feel like ( in the back) that they just get covered up by my back fat. lol. should i wear wide or skinny belts? this whole belt thing has me so confused. HELP ME!

    1. Hi Char, Are you wearing leather or leather like belts? Wear structured belts, don't wear the stretchy ones they aren't sturdy and can easy become stuck in creases. I also wear high waisted girdles. Also make sure you are wearing in the most flattering place. I say you have a high waist, middle waist, and lower waist (plus size women that is). Move your belt around around you can figure out where is most flattering and it maybe allow you to put the belt over your back fat

    2. well, that solves it! i have the stretchy belts. i will definitely try leather/leather like belts. i'm just starting to develop a "true" waist, so i'm not exactly sure where it is. i havent worn a belt since jr high school. i usually wear spanx along with (as my husband calls it) my suit of armor which is really a support vest that kinda jacks up the boobies and provides additional tummy support.

thanks so much for answering my question. i will let you know how it goes :)

  20. I do love this skirt! Very cute and very flattering! You paired it perfectly with the grey and white stripes. I adore belts but I feel you don't need to belt everything. Some things look better when you use the "less is more" philosophy because you don't want to look over accessorized. Anywho, this looks great with that white belt! Kiah
